This is movie was not as good as his other movies. The plot to this movie was really predictable, and the only humor came from the daughter and that boy. As far as I could tell, there is no symbolism in the movie. The movie just seemed to just go on. They had a little plot attention getter in the beginning, but it quickly resolves and the there are no more for for the rest of the movie.
On a side note, there are some flaws to anime movies. It's a little harder to connect to the characters, and background. I'm only used to reading subtitles for 20 minutes at a time, not an entire movie. It's a little hard to keep concentrating especially when the story is about 2 little girls moving into a new land. It might just be because I'm not a white boy as Tien says, but meh.

I'm sorry that even the subtitles got to you, but I enjoyed the film nonetheless. Once again, Tien was right, as your are only part Asian, and not fully Asian. Next time, just try watching the movie without the subs and let the colors and characters tell the story by themselves.
hahahaha
oh boy, c'mon long, I expected more out of you seeing as how you actually watch anime and are quite involved into japanese culture. I completely disagree with your entire lil post (if it was even anything) cause it only feels to me like you stereotyped it. Being so adjusted to a certain thing that you aren't open to a newer experience. The movie was awesome and to me, with the experience I have with animation and so forth, I thought this was one hell of a movie, should be in something like the all stars of animation or something. tsk tsk
Aww, cmon Jake! I know this film didn't have as much action as you like (Jackie Chan Movies...), but you really didn't like it? Couldn't you just enjoy the innocence of the film? I guess someone could find some parts boring, but it was still a new experience right? I mean, have you seen another movie that was like this before?
